Gordon Chambers
When you pick up a Gordon Chambers record, you're guaranteed to find the following: lush vocals, irresistible melodies, timeless, truthful songwriting, and top-notch production.
Gordon's forthcoming release, "Love Stories" is no exception. The album is filled with songs from the Grammy-winning songwriter-turned solo artist that are as beautifully and passionately performed as they are written. "Love Stories" is the perfect title for a record filled with stories about various relationship scenarios. There's the "relationship at the end of the rope" song "Stay Together," the heartfelt, "long-distance love affair" tune, "Unfair," and the joyous, "finally find the right one" duet with Ledisi, "To Love Again."
And while the album has plenty of catchy, up tempo grooves, Gordon shines equally on the slower cuts like the piano-driven love letter, "If It Wasn't For Your Love," the melancholy "Wish I Was In Love," and the gorgeous gospel tune, "Still Blessing Me."
To say Gordon Chambers is an accomplished songwriter seems a terrible understatement. His songwriting credits boast over 60 artists, including Aretha Franklin, Chaka Kahn, Whitney Houston, Patti LaBelle, Gladys Knight, Brandy, and Carl Thomas. As a songwriter, Gordon is best known for the Grammy award winning Anita Baker hit, "I Apologize," and the hits "If You Love Me" by Brownstone and "(No More Rain) In This Cloud" by Angie Stone.
Gordon first stepped out as a solo artist in 2005, with the independent release "Introducing Gordon Chambers." His well-received debut introduced listeners to Gordon's immense talent as a singer, songwriter, and keyboardist, and his second record will undoubtedly cement his place as an artist known for delivering quality music.
Gordon spoke recently about his new music, his career as a successful songwriter, and shared some memorable moments with one of his idols.
