Vikter Duplaix

Talented DJ/Producer turned solo artist Vikter Duplaix could also be called a mood architect. On his latest record, "Bold and Beautiful," he creates futuristic, hypnotizing, and sensual soundscapes that create the perfect atmosphere for chilling out, or making out. Simply put, it's the kind of record you'll want to hear from beginning to end repeatedly, to let the sexy groove seep in.

An accomplished dj, producer, engineer, and songwriter, Vikter's laundry list of credits include a wide variety of talented artists, including Jill Scott, Erykah Badu, The Roots, Jazzy Jeff, Meshell Ndegeocello, Roy Ayers, and Teddy Pendergrass, just to name a few. A native of Philadelphia, Vikter was a "behind the scenes" player in Philly's neo-soul explosion during the1990s. His first effort as a solo artist came in 2002, with the critically-acclaimed "International Affairs" released by Hollywood Records.

"Bold and Beautiful" marks Vikter's full debut as an independent artist. And what a debut it is. Free from major label meddling, the record embodies freedom, expression, and all types of beauty, from the physical to the spiritual. And while Vikter's songwriting is ablaze with passion and emotion, the words never overpower the music, which is clearly the centerpiece of the record. Highlights include the super sexy tracks "Nothing Like Your Touch" and "In the Middle of You," the blissful love song "Make a Baby," the inspirational anthem "I See the Sun" featuring Tye Tribbett, and the bittersweet duet with Estero "Another Great Love Gone By."
